the hot bride /ðə hɒt braɪd/ noun — 1. a bride (or groom, whatever!) who throws the party, not the production; flushed from champagne and dancing. 2. candid, unposed, a little wild, entirely herself. 3. see also: alive, in love, dancing.
Hi, I'm Lana and I think you should throw a party. The biggest party of your life — and call it a wedding.
Because this is your one life. You get to do this thing once. Just once. Blink and you miss it!
So do it big. Invite everyone you love. Keep the champagne flowing. Make it yours.
Document it so you never have to rely on memory alone.
Throw the party.
Born in Belarus and raised in NYC as a first-generation Belarusian-American, I studied photography from high school through the School of Visual Arts and Drexel University. Given the opportunity, I always choose a timeless black and white photograph as homage to my many days in the darkroom. I believe in levity, service, and showing up for people with care and integrity. My brief flirtation with corporate life taught me I'd rather be at the party but that doesn't mean I'm not deeply serious, committed, and devoted to excellence.
I describe my work as artful, culture-forward, intimate, documentary-style portraits and candids. I shoot portraits and document events with a paparazzi-inspired, film noir, retro, 35mm off-the-cuff style. I love my camera and I bring technical skills and an eye for composition, but I'm not a gear head and my focus is on the people.
Charmed — now, about your party
"What happens, happens. And then, we are gone." — Sebastian J. Cricket
"Her ability to capture candid moments and feature people in their best light is a gift"
"This genius of a photographer made my event look like an insane party with beautiful people having an incredible time (which it was, but we've had many other photographers for our events and none of them have managed to capture the vibe)"
"The (gallery) link has been sent out and everyone is already texting how amazing the photos are!"
"Lana... these are just incredible. We are soooo happy with what you shot, wow! We had full work days yesterday so was only able to look at everything late last night, and were blown away - thank you!"
